What is your favorite memory of your time at LSTC?
I will continue with my PhD program at LSTC.
What was the most meaningful class you took?
Learning about the theological context for the emergence of womanist theology with Dr. Linda Thomas, which furthered my understanding of womanist biblical interpretation.
How did you feel supported during your seminary journey? Were you the recipient of any major scholarships? What communities or people uplifted you during your studies?
I am grateful for all the people who walked with me during this time, especially my family and my home church. At LSTC I was supported by my professors, staff, friends from different congregations and my fellow students who spoke on my behalf when I couldn’t speak, held my hand, cried and rejoiced with me. And most of all, the ELCA Global Mission scholarship under the International Women Leaders Program. They make sure I have all my basic needs.
What are your post-graduation plans?
After my PhD I am planning to teach at Nyakato Bible College in Tanzania.
How did LSTC shape you as a future leader of the public church?
LSTC classes, experiences out of class, and other events have shaped my leadership skills in so many ways. I get to practice leadership though presentations, participation in panels, presiding and preaching in chapel, etc. I know that at LSTC I am growing daily as a leader.
