Can you share some highlights or meaningful moments from your life since you graduated  from LSTC?

I was privileged to serve twice in the course of my ordained ministry as a pastor-developer  of new congregations. In addition, I served on synodical and churchwide staff in  congregational evangelism. In retirement, I’m enjoying serving in the world as an advocate  for the hungry, helping to protect women’s reproductive rights, and as an active volunteer  in the Democratic Party in Nevada. Since several years after my husband, David’s death, I  have facilitated church grief groups.

How has your LSTC experience shaped your journey?

LSTC helped to shape my understanding of the Bible and its interpretation from a Lutheran  perspective. The school helped me learn how to be a well-rounded pastor and gave me a  solid foundation for a life in ordained ministry.

Do you have any words of encouragement for current students?

Thank you for responding to the call by God to serve Jesus’ church and his people. Stay  grounded in the Word and in prayer. Be a public advocate for justice and mercy. Nurture  relationships with colleagues and learn from mentors, especially those with years of  practical ministry experience in leading congregations. Lead faithfully and well.
