Mark T. Lowry joins LSTC as philanthropic engagement associate

Mark T. Lowry joined the Advancement team of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC) as philanthropic engagement associate on Jan. 4.
“I welcome Mark to the Advancement team to help us with a more robust engagement with volunteer leaders,” said Sandra Nelson, vice president for advancement. “He brings a passion for and years of experience working with volunteers and alumni. I look forward to what he will do at LSTC.”
His work will focus on increasing the number of people and organizations that financially support LSTC by developing and strengthening those relationships.
“I am excited to be joining the LSTC community,” said Lowry. “I look forward to building and growing relationships with our volunteer leaders, alumni, and community partners.”
Lowry has worked with colleges, universities, and graduate schools as well as nonprofit organizations for 20 years. He most recently served as associate director of alumni engagement for Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He has been both a senior manager and community manager for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. He has also worked with the College of Lake County, Grayslake, Ill., in the areas of student life and first year experience. He is also a consultant in leadership training and development.
He holds a bachelor of arts in Elementary Education, Language Arts, from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
