Commencement exercises for the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago’s (LSTC’s) class of 2023 will be held in person at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. The church is located at 5472 South Kimbark Avenue in Chicago. There will be a reception for the graduates at LSTC following the commencement ceremony.

On Saturday, May 20, at 4 p.m., the Baccalaureate service will be held at the Augustana Lutheran Church at 5500 S. Woodlawn in Chicago. Live streaming of the commencement and baccalaureate services will be made available on LSTC’s social media channels for those unable to attend in person.

We are also pleased to announce this year’s 2023 commencement speaker will be Sr. Barbara Reid, president of the Catholic Theological Union in Hyde Park, where LSTC will be moving in July.

Commencement is not a ticketed event for guests. All guests who desire to attend are welcome to join us for this celebratory occasion. LSTC 2023 graduates can stay current on the latest commencement news by visiting the Graduates page on MyLSTC.
