LSTC to Host an Online Art Auction May 11-18

Close up of an oil painting by Nierman

Stroll through any hall at LSTC and, at some point, you will be compelled to stop and observe the beautiful, symbolic, abstract, or historic artwork decorating the seminary’s walls. Over the last five decades, LSTC has accumulated a collection of more than one hundred-thirty art pieces that trace the walls of the main 125,000-square-foot facility of our seminary.

Each piece of art tells its own story. Attached to the artwork is another story of the art’s history and how the art found its way into the seminary’s collection. Whether gifted by a generous donor, purchased by the seminary, or created by one of our talented students, every piece of art in our collection holds a special meaning to LSTC.

As we gear up for the move to our new location, many of the beloved art pieces in our collection that help tell the rich story of LSTC will accompany us to our new location. Other items will be returned to the donors or artists who generously allowed us to exhibit them.

The remaining pieces of art cannot be incorporated into our reduced-sized space, and so will be sold in an online auction from May 11-May 18. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to reaffirming our students’ access to scholarships and other academic opportunities.

You must register to place a bid in the auction by visiting GiveButter.com/c/lstc-art/auction. For details about the online art auction, contact Laura Wilhelm at lauranwilhelm@gmail.com.
