Philanthropy Workshop with Mike Ward: Creating a Culture of Generosity when the world keeps shouting scarcity

Join Mike Ward, author of Abundance: Creating a Culture of Generosity and Managing Partner of GSB Fundraising for a workshop and discussion, Friday, March 10, 9:00-11:00 a.m., about generosity and how to craft the best story that leads people to charity.

Workshop Description

Friday, March 10, 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Inflation, economic downturn, layoffs, and political polarization convey messages of scarcity that intercept what we know as truth: God provides to us in abundance.  The question is, how does the church tell a different story?

Well, that’s the key.  It starts with a story. God’s story.   In this session, we will focus on the stories we tell and how those stories can create a culture of generosity.

Time will be devoted to what’s working and what isn’t in congregational stewardship right now and we will discuss how to have conversations around generosity.

Today, congregations are growing 10-20% annually in overall revenue, capital campaigns are exceeding goals, and the propensity to consider a gift through a donor’s estate to the congregation is rising.
