Shemiah is a 3rd year MDiv, Word and Sacrament candidate at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, Illinois will be preaching. In 2016 Shemiah earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Sociology from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina. In her final year at Bennett, she served as the Student Body President where she cultivated relationships among students and faculty to help advance the institution’s retention. After graduating, Shemiah began her career as an Elementary teacher and served as Co-Ministry Coordinator for Ministerial Formation at Faith Point Fellowship. Currently, Shemiah volunteers with the Youth and Young Adult ministry at her home congregation, Shekinah Chapel.
