What is your favorite memory of your time at LSTC?

I have many fond memories of walking to and from class with friends! I can count on any fellow LSTC student for laughter and good conversation. I want to give a special shoutout to Madelyn, Adam, Leah, Hannah and Jan for literally and metaphorically walking with me during my seminary journey.

What was the most meaningful class you took?

It’s very difficult to decide! I have genuinely enjoyed every single class I have taken at LSTC. Taking Systematic Theology with Dr. Candace Kohli during my very first semester at LSTC sparked my love of systematics going forward. Classes related to biblical studies also hold a special place in my heart, especially with Dr. Karri Alldredge teaching. I thrive in classes with Dr. Marvin Wickware because of his true passion for his subject matter, and commitment to student success. Dr. Wickware is also an incredibly supportive thesis advisor!  Many of my most important theological and emotional epiphanies took place in classes with Dr. Brooke Petersen because of the emotionally safe environment she creates in her classroom.

How did you feel supported during your seminary journey? Were you the recipient of any major scholarships? What communities or people uplifted you during your studies?

In addition to the peers and professors I have mentioned already, I want to thank Dr. Peter Vethanayagamony for teaching me how to effectively find theological sources after I received a dishearteningly bad grade in a different class because I lacked that skill, Dr. Chrisida Anandan for her patience when I struggled to learn Koine Greek, and Dr. Vinod Wesley for his continued support in crafting my thesis.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I am currently deciding between pursuing a PhD at my alma mater, Michigan State University, and becoming a Peace Corps volunteer. I intend to stay connected with the church through hospital chaplaincy.
