Black Wellness: Emotionally and Spiritually Panel Discussion
On February 14, at 12:30pm, immediately following worship service, a panel discussion will be held on the topic “Black Wellness in the Black Community: Emotionally and Spiritually,” with four inspired panelists. LSTC alumnus and Pastor Fanya Burford will moderate the panel. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Pamela Lightsey
Panelist and noted African American scholar Dr. Pamela Lightsey is the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Meadville Lombard Theological Seminary. A social justice advocate, Dr Lightsey focuses on the status of LGBTQ rights and currently serves as a member of the mayor of Chicago’s LGBTQ Advisory Council.
Rev. Jocelyn J. Jones-Glover
Panelist and trauma specialist, Rev. Jocelyn J. Jones-Glover, MSW, is President of Faith on the Journey—a ministry that helps people heal from trauma. An entrepreneur, popular speaker, and author, Rev Jones is also a Master Facilitator with the Trauma Healing Institute.
Dr. Kimberly Lymore
Panelist and theologian Dr. Kimberly Lymore is a pastoral associate at the Faith Community of St. Sabina under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Michael Pfleger. She currently serves as the Director of the Augustus Tolton Pastoral Ministry Program at Catholic Theological Union and is the Convener of the Black Catholic Theological Symposium.
