The design phase for the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago’s (LSTC) new building location is now complete and renovation at our new seminary home on the 4th floor of the Catholic Theological Union (CTU) is scheduled to begin this spring.
Highlights of the design include a café, chapel, and copy room; 4 classrooms; two zoom rooms, 30 office spaces; a prayer and meditation room; and a grand hallway meeting space. (Read More)

WHERE IS THE NEW CAMPUS LOCATED?
The Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago has moved to 5416 S. Cornell Avenue, fourth floor, Chicago, Illinois 60615. Our seminary is located on the campus of Catholic Theological Union in the Reverend Donald Senior, CP Academic Center building.
What are the hours of operation?
The building is open 7 days a week, holidays excepted, from 8 A.M. to 10 P.M. LSTC faculty and staff have 7-day a week, 24-hour access to the building. Students can access the building from 7:30 A.M. to 10 P.M daily.

What is happening at LSTC over the summer?
We’ve moved out of the historic LSTC building, and many offices are already set up and functioning at the new LSTC space, 5416 S. Cornell Ave, fourth floor. Student services are setting up office space in one of the student apartments.
There are many educational activities that are happening this summer. Some students are enrolled in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Intensives for the TEEM program were conducted in June, and classes for the ACTS DM in in Preaching program will also be held over the summer. The LRWC Summer Language Program will be offered in August for incoming international students. Twelve students will attend the Parliament of World Religions August 14-18 as part of a summer course. PhD students continue their exam preparation and dissertation research. Faculty members are also engaging their research projects and preparing for next year’s courses.
There will be fun opportunities for the LSTC community to socialize over the summer months, to be announced. Stay tuned!

Where will LSTC classes be held from the start of the semester through the completion of construction?
LSTC classes will be held in classrooms already available at the new campus, with room numbers to be announced over the summer. A distance option to attend synchronously via Zoom will be offered for all courses.
Where will LSTC classes be held after October?
We are planning to move LSTC classes to the new classrooms located on the fourth floor of 5416 S. Cornell as soon as they are completed! The anticipated completion date is October 1.
When will chapel services be held?
Chapel services will be held Mondays from 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The location for chapel services will be announced at a later date.
I am an LSTC student and would like to host an event. What is the process for planning before construction is complete in the new building and after?
