What is your favorite memory of your time at LSTC?

My favorite memory is being involved in the LSTC chapel ministry as a sacristan. As an international student it was a precious opportunity to be involved in a worship ministry with American Lutheran characteristics that were slightly different from the Lutheran worship practices in my country.

What was the most meaningful class you took?

I loved all the classes at LSTC, but the most meaningful class for me was the Race and Theology class with Dr. Candace Kohli. In this class I discovered the intersection of history and theology and their relationship to race in medieval ages which can be disturbing at times but at the same time invites me to think critically to understand it.

How did you feel supported during your seminary journey? Were you the recipient of any major scholarships? What communities or people uplifted you during your studies?

LSTC is a great community for me. I feel honored to be here. The faculty is very supportive of my learning process and my fellow students as well. I received a scholarship from LSTC which, although not full, helped me a lot. I am also grateful for the fellowship within the international student community, it feels like home where we are all like siblings.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I wish to continue my studies for another degree.

How did LSTC shape you as a future leader of the public church?

The experience in LSTC and the public church class shaped me a lot as a future leader of the public church. This community taught me that preaching the gospel is not only through pulpits and sermons but also by raising prophetic voices and taking sides with people marginalized by injustice and suffering in society.
