What is your favorite memory of your time at LSTC?

My favorite memory from my time at LSTC was my trip to India in January of 2020. This trip was a great experience and opportunity to learn about the Christian churches in India and experience God’s children in another culture and part of the world. India is the fifth country outside of the US that I have had the pleasure of visiting. This trip was also a great way for me to get to know more of my peers at LSTC and beyond.

What was the most meaningful class you took?

My favorite class was Spiritualities of Knowing Science, Religion, and the Cosmos. This class was so meaningful to me because it gave such a different perspective on how to see the divine in every part of creation, like water and oil and fire.

How did you feel supported during your seminary journey? Were you the recipient of any major scholarships? What communities or people uplifted you during your studies?

I was a Fund For Leader full tuition scholarship recipient. This scholarship made seminary accessible to me and allowed me to grow into my call as an ordained minister in the ELCA. I was also supported by my incredible family and husband. They have always supported me and encouraged me in following my call.

What are your post-graduation plans?

Post graduation I will be awaiting my first call. I am serving a great congregation as their student pastor until I get a call of my own. I also plan on spending as much time as I can with my husband and four-month-old baby boy.

How did LSTC shape you as a future leader of the public church?

LSTC shaped who I am as a leader in so many ways. The most important way I have been shaped is through the focus on what it means to be a public church. This has been central and crucial in the way that I show up as a leader to a church and the larger community in which I am living and serving.
