What is your favorite memory of your time at LSTC?

As an international student from Myanmar, my favorite memory of my time at LSTC is  walking around the campus and neighborhood.

What was the most meaningful class you took?

The Book of Revelation class has been the most meaningful course I have taken. It has  given me new insights into how Christians can develop an ethic of resistance to the state  when it seeks to dominate and misuse God’s creation.

How did you feel supported during your seminary journey? Were you the recipient of any major scholarships? What communities or people uplifted you during your studies?

I have experienced tremendous support from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago— academically, financially, and socially. I received a full tuition scholarship from the school,  financial assistance from the Langham Partnership, and ongoing support from institutions,  churches in Myanmar, and my family.

The LSTC community has been especially welcoming and supportive: sharing used  furniture, advocating for international students, helping with grammar and feedback, and  showing genuine care during difficult times. In addition, the support from Lutheran  Churches in Chicago—through initiatives like Duty Free and Katie’s Closet—has been very helpful to us.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I am not certain yet, but I am very excited about my future ministry path.

How did LSTC shape you as a future leader of the public church?

Coursework in the degree program and dissertation work are designed to engage the public  church. The academic life and community at LSTC also embody this commitment.
