What brought you to LSTC?
I believe divine providence combined with a hunger driven by purpose led me to LSTC. Being a part of this learning community affords me the opportunity to continue the journey towards a PhD while refining my own theological formation. That coupled with a faculty that sees resonance between my academic curiosities and that of their own made it a wise choice to make.
What people, communities, or experiences have been important sources of support for you?
My communities of support are the very communities I draw inspiration from. I stand as a representation of the Black Church, HBCU’S, midwestern winters, east coast cities, and southern breezes. From their support I find solace in pressing forward.
What are you most looking forward to during your time at LSTC?
I’m looking forward to further exploring the city of Chicago’s Black theological footprint and what’s developed from that iconic footprint.
What is one thing you would want someone considering theological education to know?
One thing anyone should know regarding theological education is that you should enter into it with an open heart willing to be molded by what you find. Open your heart to validity of scripture, the reality of the human condition, and the goal of liberation for all.
