LSTC Standard Degrees & Programs
Master of Divinity (MDiv)
This degree prepares you for ordained ministry.
Master of Arts (MA)
This degree provides a foundation for academic vocations or can be a way to nourish your faith through study.
Master of Arts in Ministry (MAM)
This degree prepares you for ministry as a deacon in the ELCA.
Master of Theology (ThM)
This degree is both a first degree for students in the PhD program and for those with an MDiv or MA who wish to do focused study.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
This degree prepares people for teaching ministries or provides deeper understanding and enrichment for pastors.
Doctor of Ministry (DMin)
This degree gives mid-career pastors ways to grow in their ministry skills.
Joint Degrees & Special Programs with Partner Institutions and Organizations
MDiv/AM, MA/AM, or MAM/AM Dual Degree
This dual degree program allows students to earn the MDiv, MA, or MAM degree from LSTC and the AM degree from the University of Chicago (the equivalent to a master of social work degree).

Theological Education for Emerging Ministries (TEEM)
Theological Education for Emerging Ministries (TEEM) is a leadership formation process in the ELCA designed to meet special ministry needs of the church.
